Our “German Wine Entrepreneur”: Andrea Springmann

Introducing Our German Wine Entrepreneur in the Chamber:

Andrea Springmann

Andrea Springmann grew up in a winemaking family in the southern part of Germany (Black Forest). Before she came to Hong Kong she worked in a marketing and strategy company specialized in tourism industry. One of the Andrea´s main tasks is the development of strategies and marketing concepts for wine destinations.

Why did she start up her business in Hong Kong? We were all interested to know when Andrea introduced herself in the “How I Started: How I Made It” Experience Sharing Session in our January Entrepreneur and Small Business Committee Meeting (ESBC) Meeting.

Andrea said, Hong Kong is a very interesting wine hub in Asia. There are:
 a) No customs or taxes on wine, b) A lot of Wine Events, e.g. an international wine fair in November and every 2 years the world largest exhibition Vin Expo.

Most importantly,

c) Wine as an investment is a very hot topic in Hong Kong.

d) And last but not least Hong Kong is the gateway to China.
